I know I'm supposed to be talking about the wiring
in this section... but when I went to document the
headlight wiring, this is what I found behind the
driver side head light. Yuck!
I can't leave this alone! We're going to take a slight detour so I can restore the headlights.

Of course, the driver side headlight is toast, as
is much of the hardware. Fortunately, I have the
passenger side to use as an example. The outer
chrome trim is held in place with a single sheet
metal screw. Removing this screw makes it possible
to remove the chrome and gain access to the inner
hardware.
The headlight itself is held in place by a chrome
retaining ring, which is held in place by 3 small
screws. Removing these screws allows the ring to be
removed, and the light to be pulled out of the
support hardware.
