A pickle fork, borrowed from my local auto parts
store, made removing the tie rods trivial.
Fortunately, only 1 of the rod ends needed to be
replaced—the one nearest the driver side. I
measured the outside end-to-end length of the
adjustable rod end and got 59.2 cm. After
reassembling the front end, however, the toe-in was
off by an entire inch. (Measurement error?)
