This is a view of the underside of the driver’s side lower control arm. The nut holding the shock absorber mounting bracket in place was fused to the bolt. I ended up drilling it out and replacing it. On the passenger side, the bracket was broken. (I purchased a new one.)

The shock absorbers can be removed by removing the nuts on the top and bottom, slipping the shock out the bottom.
