The rubber windshield gasket will also have to be replaced. It has 3 distinct groves--one for the glass, one for the car body, and one for the exterior window chrome.

The exterior windshield chrome fits snugly against the car body.

Here it is shown in place, and moved about 1/2 out of place to reveal the channel in the body for the chrome.
