The first thing I had to do was find replacements
for the instruments, the clock, and the
speedometer. I visited a local junkyard in Erie,
Colorado. The owner was rude and asked a whopping
$250 for the replacements. I found the same thing
on E-bay for a fraction of the cost. The
instruments are actually for a 1953, but should be
fine. The only real difference is the oil pressure
gauge. In 1954, Chevrolet switched to a pressure
oil system, which runs at about 40 PSI. But the
1953 pressure gauge pegs at 30 PSI. So, when I run
the engine, the gauge will be railed. Not a
problem. The clock didn't work, but was easily
fixed by a local jeweler. (Note: It's a wind-up
clock!)

One of these days, I'll figure out how to change
the new odometer to match the old one. Right now,
the new odometer reads about 1 mile.
