The metal straps that hold the tank in place are so badly rusted that you can see through them in places. Somehow, I don't want to hold 15 gallons of gas off the road with these flimsy straps. I got some stock steel, about 3 times as thick, and bent it into identically-shaped straps. There were a little tighter than the original, but the tank went back in the car, just the same. With the fuel line reinstalled, all I have left to do is to replace the in-line fuel filter.
